Home Invasion! how many rounds do you carry with you?
Suppose three armed people busted into your house in the middle of the night, you were awakened by their destructive search for valuables downstairs. A quick peek shows that they're armed with firearms, two with handguns and one with a shotgun. Grabbing your home defense weapon, how many rounds/magazines do you take with you?
Second part, if you're expecting them to shoot at you (for whatever reason) and somehow things got out of control and they started shooting at you, how many rounds would you carry with you then?
serious answers please, I'm just wondering how many rounds/magazines should I carry with me if some armed people busted into my house. I plan on using either a 5+1 capacity 20 gauge pump shotgun or my Ruger 10/22. I'm thinking around 60 rounds for the 1022 or 30 shells for the shotgun. What about you?
If your only two choices are these two guns then definitely use the 20 gauge shotgun.
20 gauge ammo in 1, 2 or 3 buck is a very effective man stopper
The 30 rounds that you plan to use are plenty for most situations.
If ever put in this situation. DO NOT GO LOOKING FOR THE BURGLARS.
Armed robbers who are brave enough to break into your house with guns will no doubt shoot you if they see you with a shotgun.
*If this happens, retreat to a "safe room" (a room where you can barricade yourself)
*Call the Police right away.
*Do not hang up the phone, the Police record every call and you want there to be as many witnesses as possible if you ever fire a gun in self defense.
*If the burglars start to break into your safe room, yell as loud as you can something to the effect of ""stop or I'll shoot"
*Do not fire through the door. Wait until they kick down the door and you see them, till you fire.
I hope you never have to go through this situation but if you do, you'll be prepared.
