what animals will a .223 bullet kill?
ok i got a tacktical rifle for christmas. it shoots 223 bullets. i hunt hog, deer, fox, racoons, possum, i mean just about everything. i just want to know what of those can i kill with that.

So, .223 is generally considered to be somewhere in the range of a varminter round as opposed to a game round. There is no question that there are some states where it is legal to hunt deer with a .223 and many people do, but I probably wouldn't, or if pressed, I'd definately use the heaviest bullet I could find - probably at least 64 grain.
Not sure the size of hogs you run into where you are at, I've never hunted them personally, but have been told they are pretty thick skinned and can run up into the couple of hundred pound range, which implies to me that the .223 is a little on the light weight side as a standard hunting round for that sort of animal. Again, your area has laws governing such. You local sporting goods store should have the DNR guideline for caliber for hunting of both varmints and game animals.
If you are going to hunt bigger animals with the .223 I'd definately recommend approaching it the same way archers do - look for the quartering away double lung and heart shot.
