help on obtaining a Grant for scout group?

i am a scout leader in birmingham in a underprivledge area and we are looking to extend our resourcers with in our group by buying archery equipment and safety Netting to allow the young ppl who unfortunatly tend to miss out on Camps because of the cost to experiance lots of different things Archery seems to be a very popular sport now amongst our young memebers and was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere i can apply for grants to help us riase the funds

There are various charities in Birmingham who do make donations to groups such as Scouting and Girlguiding but, of course, the most generous tend to be in the outer (well off) suburbs. I would have thought that if you make enquiries at Scout HQ (I believe that's in Hatchett Street) they may be able to give you the names of suitable donating charities. Some years ago I applied to the BBC Children in Need for money to create a school garden in inner city Birmingham and received £2000.
There are a number of outdoor activity centres that you could take you Scouts to, including those owned and run by Scouting as well as privately-owned ones such as the Woodlands Centre.
