Big Hunting Clothes
Everyone is caught up in society/fashion/work/resumes/getting ahead. Is it wrong NOT to care?
Everyone around me is always asking me hows job hunting, improving my resume, career-oriented talk, worried about cars, clothes, houses, everything basically which makes them look good and puts more experience and money in their pockets, and I frankly don't give a shit.
I mean, I'm normal, I graduated from college, I care about things to a degree, but I'm not caught up in it. I'm a very mature and thoughtful person, and I don't really care what some stiff-neck a((hole behind a corporate desk really thinks of me and my resume.
Everyone lies and bullshits anyways, its all one big pile of shit, and I'm sick of really caring.
It feels like life/society is for the conformists, and the players/smart types, and we have this HUGE pressure to conform, to drive a nice car, always be working alot, or have a nice job, play golf, all that bullshit, and if you god forbid DON'T care about your resume or working, then you automatically become a loser.
Is it WRONG not to care? B/C I don't.
It's not wrong that you don't care about those particular things, but it is important that you have something in your life that you are passionate about and fulfills you. If it isn't the promotions, big cars, money, etc. then do what you need to do. I know from experience you will never be happy chasing someone else's dream, but when you are chasing your own, it makes life very good. There are places that you can find people that feel like you do, they are usually in non-profit and the helping fields. There's BS there too sometimes, but it makes it easier to deal with when you like who you see in the mirror.
