A Review of the Compound Bow

Bows have been used for hunting and for defense for centuries. In those days the bow was powered by the force of the bowstring, as the archer pulled back on the string; however, today archery has taken a much more advanced stage. The Compound Bow is typically the best type of bow to use.

Pulling back on the bow string is called the draw and according to the bow's pull weight will determine how much draw weight will be needed to pull the string back. The harder it is to pull the string the faster and farther the arrow will go.

Compound Bow's come in many different sizes, colors, and strength. They are strong enough for any size of hunter and small enough for even children to use. It has only a few parts that actually move; two wheels and the two limbs. In today's hunting world the archer prefers the speed and accuracy of the arrow.

If a bow shoots faster it is because it requires more of an effort to draw the string back. People are different sizes and have different types of strengths as well; so it stands to reason that one particular bow will not work for everyone.

A Compound Bow gets its energy from the archer, so if you want speed and accuracy you will need to find a bow that you can bull as much as you can and still not have to put a lot of strength in it. After all you don't want the pull to be so strong that you are about to pull a muscle. When you find one that is too strong for you to pull back, then try the next one with less pull.

You can also check at your nearest sporting goods store for other types of Compound Bows. Both the internet and local sporting goods stores have some advantages and disadvantages as well. Shopping at your local sporting goods store you will have the convenience of actually holding and trying out the bow before you purchase it; you can also have the convenience to talking to a sales person who actually can give you some suggestions as to which Compound Bow will be just right for you.
