A deer rifle for pops... Browning, Kimber, or Sako...help!?

My brother and I are getting our father a deer rifle for his birthday. He's a seasoned hunter who's too frugal to get a quality rifle (always borrow's my uncle's Browning A-bolt). Open field & woods... I guess an all weather/purpose rifle in a .270. We've narrowed our search to the Browning Stainless Stalker X-Bolt (may have to wait a little longer for this one), Kimber 8400 Montana, Sako 85 stainless or the Sako 85 finnlight. Would look forward to your recommendations.
