Bushnell Optics - What do you guys think of them?

I just picked up a Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot and I absolutely love it. How do bushnell optics compare with other brands you've used?

anyone who answers and states Bushnell is good or bad...or says the same thing about any other brand, needs to be ignored.

You see, Bushnell, like most scope makers, has different categories of scope, and anyone who just gives an opinion of Bushnell without stating which line they are talking about is just repeating BS they overheard some other moron muttering

Bushnell's Elite 6500 is a VERY VERY excellent optic...and it should be for it's $1000 price tag.

One step down, the Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical I think has more bells and whistles, enough so it competes in price with the Elite 6500. I'd rather have every penny going into quality optics, not bells and whistles.

Of course, the straight Bushnell Elite 4200 skips most of those bells and whistles and is a very good buy for just under $600 to as low as $425 for some of the smaller scopes. I think this is where Bushnell really shines, quality for value.

Now, the Bushnell Elite 3200 is the next line running from $400 to $200. Like before, there are some stellar values at this optic level.

The 4th line for Bushnell is the Trophy line. With a few bells and whistles, it has models in it that actually list more than for a plane jane 3200. $100-250 is it's price band, and in ALL cases, you should spend a bit more and get the Elite 3200, you pay $50 to $100 more and get something twice as good. Pass on the Trophy line, unless you are buying a no-frills 3-9x for $100 then you can get a reasonable scope for the price.

Bushnell's bottom line for centerfires is the Bushnell Banner. $125 with lots of bells and whistles to as low as $70, I say pay the extra to get the no-frills 3-9x Trophy. Banner is fine for your shotgun or your 22LR, but that's about it.

Bear Crap made my point for me. He/she has had a negative experience with one Bushnell scope, but never bothered to find out if it was a $499 Elite 4200 or a $49 Banner. Guess what, you spend $100 on a scope, you didn't buy much, and it's going to break under moderately rough handling, regardless of what brand name is painted on the side.
