deer hunting tower plans?
Im looking for some plans to make a **deer hunting tower stand** im looking for something made of wood. I need some plans to do so. im looking for something about 20' tall 1 person.
no ads for people that build them PLANS only.
Andrew, the best advice I can give is to go collect data on your own. I've only seen one place advertised in a catalog about three years that had hunting blind drawings for sale. I started out building wooded blinds and made some really nice ones. I've done ground blinds, tower blinds, tree stands, and a couple of duck blinds all from wood. What I did was to go to places like Academy, Cabelas, Bass Pro and farm coops where blinds were for sale. I'd take pictures, make notes, and sketches and then come home and make my drawings. It took some trial and error and having a 10 foot tower fall before I started getting it right.
Wood frame blinds last for a while but need attention each year and will need to be reworked after a while. I now do all of my blinds out of metal frames with poly side just so I reduce the amount of upkeep time on them. There is one item I will very strongly suggest you do, when you stand a wood or metal blind get yourself a length of 1/8 cable and run it across the top and down to a ground rod. I've seen two blinds burned by lightning hits and I had an old timer tell me about a father and son who took a dry lighting hit in a metal blind that messed them both up.
