what kind of gr load should I go with for a 45 ACP?

I would just like some suggestions on what gr works best, it would be for a Glock 21, I am getting soon, so I would just like to know what kind of load, 200 gr or 230 gr. Also note that they would be hollow-points and I am looking into the Hornady TAP FPD rounds, and those also come in 200 and 230 and are real good from what I am hearing, and seen from ballistic charts. So if anybody has any sound advice on what load may perform better. Also weather factors, I ain't seeing winter for a while (yes) so if it makes a difference in warmer weather and such. Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance.

The federal 165 grain efmj (expanding full metal jacket) is a great round. the stats for the round are:
Velocity 1140
Energy in Foot Pounds 476

the Hornady TAP FPD 200 grain are also a great round. the stats for the round are:
Velocity 1055
Energy in Foot Pounds 494

for the Federal efmj it works like a hollow point but better, because hollow point can get clogged up in the hollow part of the bullet due to heavy clothing and act like a full metal jacket witch will do you no good in stopping a man. but with the expanding full metal jacket it will not clog. it will have consistent expansion. also look at the federal Hydra-Shok hollow point. its one of the best, affective ammo out there.

the Hornady TAP FPD is a great round as well. alot of police use it and i have shot a box and used to keep it in my springfield xd-40 until i heard of the efmj. just because the whole "person with heavy clothing on" is a factor in fairbanks alaska in the winter.

either will be a great choice. i would recommend buying a box or two and shooting the ammo you choose through your gun and making sure you gun will feed it correctly. and to see if the bullet is right for you. shoot safe.

Shooting Steel targets at 665, 565, and 455 yards.
