Beginner hunter questions?

First off, no anti hunter bs, I don't want to hear it. I've been thinking about getting my license for awhile and want to start, but being a complete beginner I don't know much of anything. Getting a Pa hunting license seems easy and I think it can be done online. Does anyone know some good sites that sell guns, gear, or just teach you about hunting. I'm doing some searching myself but am having some difficulty. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

First off, yo need to take a hunters safety course. You can take the course on line, but the test is required in person. Unless you have no free time, take the class in person, you will learn a lot more and meet people interested in hunting too.

Your best bet is to forget the online shopping at first. Go to your local Cabela's, Gander mtn, etc and shop. Look around at everything from Rifles to backpacks. You dont need everything, despite what you might think. Bottom line: good rifle (chambered in a caliber something like a .243, .30-30, 7mm-08 or similar), a 3x9 scope (if you feel more comfortable than with open iron sights), and a good set of clothes is about all you 'need" to have.
