Recurve Bow
What poundage for a recurve bow should i get?
I am just going to start hunting, and i was thinking of getting a recurve bow because i like the feel of them. I am going to get the martin jaguar take-down because it's affordable, but what poundage would be good for a 16 year old getting a recurve?
The poundage you should get all depends on you...as in, it's very individual. You don't want to go with any more poundage than you can comfortable draw back, and in the case of a recurve, hold. I often see hunters get as much poundage as they can strain with all their might to pull back, and it causes alot of inaccuracies...especially with a recurve.
And if you hunt in very cold weather, remember that it is much more difficult to pull that bow back with cold muscles and alot of bunched clothing on.
