Remington Model 760 pump action rifle factory replacement stocks? where to find?
my grandpa has an old remington pump action .270 rifle. its a model 760. he has had it for many years and its killed many deer and elk. throughout the years the stock and pump stock/foregrip has become chipped and over all worn down. i want to replace these with a brand new original walnut stock but i cant seem to find them anywhere since this gun is no longer in production. i dont care if it has a finish on it im very capable of staining it myself... i just dont want to have to get it fitted to the gun. id like an all original part that i can just bolt up to the gun and go. any questions email me at bldeagle10@yahoo.com
Tough question. I have been down this road before. I have several very old firearms that have been handed down over the years. After much thought I decided to leave them alone. Every time I pick up my grandfathers Remington Model 11-A 12 Gauge those notches he carved in the butt stock tells a story. It makes me think of all of the time he spent with my dad and the game they took. I would not touch it if it functions perfectly. Clean it, really good. Buy the ammo it likes. Practice as much as you can. Carry on our legacy with your history in tact!
