Remington 870 Tactical Shotguns
Remington 870 tactical for home defense?
I'm a college student and I will be moving into an apartment soon and I would rather have a shotgun over a pistol for home defense so that I don't have to worry about going through the wall and hitting neighbors, pets, etc. I have been using weapons all of my life and know plenty about the ammo and the different types of guns. My only question is if I could take my 870 and put an 18.5 inch barrel on it with a pistol grip and still meet the 26 inch requirement?
The apartment I'm looking at has rather thick walls and as for clearing rooms it would be opening my door and looking down a hall and then right into a living room. I'm not worried about the kick factor because as I stated I have been shooting for years. And I forgot to mention that with the pistol grip I was looking at a folding stock.
WOP2_99 is an idiot for a shotgun to be an AOW it must be a SBS built on a VIRGIN receiver. In other words a smooth bore pistol. That is not what you want. Go to Academy, Bass Pro Shops or any other Big Box Store and you will see pistol grip shotguns. So they are not NFA Weapons. AOW are NFA Weapons.

2) Collapsible stock, unless you live in an unfriendly (towards guns) state. Then you may want to leave it stock. Prosecutors don't like "evil" guns (AR 15's, any black mean looking gun) if god forbid you need it it would be a pity if the jury found for the plaintiff or convicted you because they didn't like the gun.
