Is this a good deal? Can I hunt deer with this in Texas?
Are these bullets expensive say at Wal Mart?
I'm a novice hunter starting out and wanted something cheap and basic until I get more knowledgeable years down the road...

That's not a rifle, it's a muzzleloader. As far as I know, they can be used for deer anywhere that allows rifle hunting, and most states have a special season just for muzzleloaders. That is something cheap, but a centerfire rifle would be much more 'basic' and probably a better choice for someone just starting out. Marlin, Savage and Weatherby all make excellent rifles for under $400, or you should be able to find a good used one for half that. You will also need a scope, unless you get a rifle with iron sights. As for cheap, readily available bullets, stick with a common caliber like .270, .308. or 30-06.
