Cabelas is more of an outfitter than an Army Surplus. But you`ll find everything you can imagine with these 3 sites
If you have ever watched the film Notting hill. Then thought to yourself which part of London was the markets based. You would be pleased to know it was filmed in the now trendy part called Notting Hill area of the capital city.
The area is also well know for its markets. Namely the Portobello Road Markets. The various markets can be found over two miles in length along the Portobello Road. There are several different types of markets in the area.
Times of opening vary for the markets. They tend to run when the tube starts. If you arrive a little earlier than planned you can order a coffee or a breakfast and enjoy before bargain hunting begins around eight. Some of the stalls remain open until between four and five in the evening.
There is a second hand stall close to the west way area of Portobello Road. You may be able to rummage through the stalls and pick up a bargain in the jewellery or book stalls. If music and second hand clothes are more your thing then you will be please to note that this is the place for bargain hunting.
If you decide to visit on a humid summers day. You will be able to cool yourself down by purchasing some exquisite fruit to eat on your picnic. You can watch the locals pick and select their fruit and vegetable purchases before heading home to cook with their freshly selected goodies.
If antiques are more your cup of tea. You would be best to head down early on a Saturday as the crowds are plentiful and the journey may take several hours on foot. Don't worry if you start to feel peckish as this part of town has plenty of cafés for stopping by and giving your legs a rest.
In the general and westway area of the road you will bag a bargain by finding a real steal in the fashion markets. Be sure to arrive early as the crowds soon fill up the street around noon.
They say location is everything and Notting Hill and Portobello Road have lots if character. John Joe has written about the location on behalf of Car Hire UK at http://www.bluewheels.com. They can offer car rental at London Bayswater and other worldwide locations.
