Let me restate my question. This time there are a lot more details. How can I attract deer?

Okay, so, this thursday, I'm going hunting. The area I'm hunting is open to any deer. My friend and I have been keeping two piles of alfalfa and apples stocked for about two weeks. The deer like it but they only seem to be showing up at night. Is there anything I can do to get them to come out in the morning, day, or evening? If it helps, I'm using a 12 ga. shotgun from a treestand about 30 yards away from the pile. I'm using a shotgun because it is a firearm restriction area. (No centerfire or rimfire firearms.) I have a couple of musk (tarsal) glands from a buck my neigbor got. He saaid I could use those to help attract deer. How?

Baiting is legal in some states, and certain areas of other states, to negate the first guy's statement. And with deer, scents and bait don't often work together. The deer you seem to be hunting are wise to baitpiles, so they only come in at night when they know they are safe. It may be too late now since you have baited for so long, but it would be best for you to get rid of the bait and use other tactics. The best way for big bucks is no bait, just scout and watch, see where they lay and travel.....and hide along those areas. The reason they get big is because they don't fall for bait and other traps.
