what kind of dog is the best for tracking a wounded animal in AR (hog and deer)?
I shot a hog about last week and track it for about 3h and lost the blood trail 4 days latter i shot a doe and track it for about 4h and lost the blood trail at the road, so what kind of dog is the best for tracking a wounded animal in AR ( hog and deer)
I have seen almost any dog imaginable make a good tracking dog. I have seen a terrier, a cur, a hound, even some cross-bred dogs will make a good tracking dog. A neighbor has a small terrier that he has used to track over 25 deer on his hunting lease.So no particular breed has a lock on being a good tracking dog. But I will say this- a good one is priceless.
